What an extraordinary thing.

Not just for Senator Booker but for New Jersey and the millions of Americans he spoke for today. This is an extraordinary moment that demands us to act and build a better future for our country.

Cory Booker has held the Senate floor for 17 hours and 21 minutes.

The record of 24 hours and 18 minutes is held by segregationist Strom Thurmond, who spent that time protesting the Civil Rights Act of 1957.

I am pretty sure Booker would not mind changing that history.

In Signalgate, Trumpworld is demonstrating exactly what's wrong with authoritarian populism: Refusal to admit error, walling out of constructive criticism, the cult-like defense of the leader at all costs.

Always interesting to arrive at a hotel and see what Home Me thought I would be doing. Did I pack for an 18th C ball? Perhaps for finally doing the yoga I’ve been saying I will do for two years?

We just got a membership last month and I have two teenagers in spring sports so…let’s just say we have been doing our part to support them 🥴💸

It is a slow process. My book has some strategies. Shoot me a DM and I can share some chapters.

I talk about this in my book, as well as other tactics like “nudging.” It’s important to remember it is a slow process, as misinformation is *very* sticky

One of my professors hit it home with the point that if you are lucky to live long enough, you will at some point have a disability. It just makes sense to always make things accessible and accommodate everyone. Also it’s kind. Fucking assholes.

BREAKING: "At 1:15 PM tomorrow, President Trump will pick a country's name out of a MAGA hat and impose crippling tariffs on that country's goods for four minutes. This will happen daily until America is great again."

My daughter was interviewing me last night and she asked what most angered me or something, and I said “people who are not curious, who do not wish to learn more.” MAGAts are so full of fear about Others. They are so closed off. And they are missing so much.

I love Poppy.
This is Poppy. Her pink silk sleeping mask fell off right before bedtime. Fortunately she only threw a very reasonably sized tantrum about the ordeal. 13/10

The state of the union?

60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.

Half of Americans struggle to afford rent.

Homelessness has risen by record numbers two years in a row.

The #1 cause of bankruptcy is medical debt.

Our taxes are funding a genocide.

Ohhhh but on the bright side maybe my MAGA-idiot-filled-HOA will actually allow things like chickens or clotheslines now.
March 4, 2025 at 1:34 PM
I mean, it’s true. And more countries need to start saying this out loud because MAGAts live in a delusional world and don’t realize we have been sliding for decades while the rest of the world moves forward

In this culture of rampant consumerism, the library is a bastion of counter culture. There one can check out things for free. Great books filled with profound ideas are all available for free.

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

We made this website to tell our story:

We're not done yet | 18F
