Can we talk for a minute about how tone deaf and noxious Zohran Mamdani's statement on October 7th is?

I count no less than 10 Hamas Press Office talking points and antisemitic tropes - which NGL is ... quite impressive for a press release aiming to convey sympathy to Jewish New Yorkers.

One Battle After Another and Sinners both lay out a formula for cinema success: diverse movies where white nationalists get duffed in the most graphic way possible shot and presented in increasingly baroque high resolution formats.

This whole discourse on the shooting of Charlie Kirk is insufferable.

I hate it here.
September 12, 2025 at 10:07 PM
I'm in the part of the Venn Diagram that says that assassinating Charlie Kirk on U.S. soil is a despicable violent crime.

... but airstrikes on Hamas terrorist leadership in Doha is as lawful and wholesome as apple pie.

Too busy to comment on the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

I'm still too focused on the IAF air strikes on Khalil el-Hayya, Khelad Meshal and Mousa Abu Marzouk.
September 10, 2025 at 9:52 PM
One of my favorite details about the Doha air strikes is that there's nobody from Hamas who can deny the reports that Khalil el-Hayya, Mousa Abu Marzouk and Khelad Meshal were all killed.

... because a week ago IAF took out Abu Obeida the Hamas Press Secretary!

Happy first day of classes to everyone!

Except for the 100 former Columbia University students who were suspended and expelled for violating the civil rights of Jewish students.

I hope they're having fun smoking weed in their childhood bedroom at their moms house.

Brad Lander not even coming in 2nd place is a major underwhelming showing.

He is the incumbent Comptroller, the 3rd highest ranking elected in NYC gov.

And he's losing to a State Assemblyman which is a part time job 4 months a year.

For the Modern Baseball ballot, where the Veterans Committee looks at players who played primarily 1980 to 2005, the next most deserving Hall of Famers are Keith Hernandez and Lou Whitaker.

Non-coincidentally, Hernandez and Whitaker are the best first and second basemen not in the Hall.

In an alternate universe, President Harris would have just hosted Zelensky in the Oval Office, incident free.

Vice President Walz would be talking up school lunches in Wisconsin.

The stock market would be humming smoothly.

Your IRA would have $10,000s more value than it does now.

Cities are you listening?

No one should have to loose a friend, loved one or family member to traffic violence like I did with my 20-year-old daughter Robyn while they were bicycling.

At this point you can no longer argue in good faith that Mahmoud Khalil was denied due process.

He had his day in court. He lost.

I know this is missing the point, but does anyone else find it odd that he claims legal residency in not 1 not 2 not 3 but _4_ states?

He's an Algerian citizen, with Syrian permanent residency.

... but he also claims legal residency in the U.S.

... but he also claims a right to return to Israel!

I always have to chuckle when Palestinian nationalists post their graphic of what a "Free Palestine" would look like - and their map always includes the Golan Heights.

So why should the Palestinians have sovereignty over the mostly Druze population of the Golan?

One thing that's legitimately funny about the Luigi Mangione prosecution is that if you at any point ever tweeted posted or made a tiktok expressing admiration for Mangione you can't now pretend to be morally opposed to capital punishment as a matter of principle.

I better hear every one of you motherfuckers complaining everywhere you go to everyone you see about how expensive everything is.

Say shit like, "fuckin tariffs," whenever you buy something so people hear you.

Public sentiment means a lot.

Y'all love complaining.

Yeah I'm OK with deporting card carrying members of Hezbollah.
April 1, 2025 at 7:21 PM
I'm much less sympathic to these grad students getting deported than I am the younger college students.

Undergrad is for self-discovery and intellectual freedom.

Grad school is for advancing your career.

And a lot of these grad students are in their 30s.

I have a funny feeling that all of these articles about Rumeysa Ozturk, the Turkish student studying at Tufts for a Ph.D., are omitting at least one very major, crucial fact.

Such to the point that we're not at all reading the full story.
