I watched Stans last Friday and while it's an entertaining view into the titular phenomenon and the influence that art can have for a wide range of different people, it just wasn't made for the big screen. Underutilises the possibilities of cinema both for big impact and personal intimacy.

Agree because cozy game for me means a game that I can hop into without "preparation", either because it's easy enough or I have played enough of it so I don't have to refresh mechanics, lore etc. (E.g. Binding of Isaac is one such game for me)

Agree because cozy game for me means a game that I can hop into without "preparation", either because it's easy enough or I have played enough of it so I don't have to refresh mechanics, lore etc. (E.g. Binding of Isaac is one such game for me)
For the last 3ish years or so I've been thinking of violence (broad term) in media (mostly games) and its aesthetics, history and ramifications (if there are any?). I think, while we should be steadfast against reactionary and / or conservative hyperbolics, it's still something to talk about.

I don't own a Switch 2 but I feel vindicated with how the cow is one of its viral parts. Moo Moo Meadows always was my favourite track in 8 because I loved just seeing them chill around the course. Now "La Vaca" lives in my head.

A week before Christmas I watched War of the Rohirrim together with a friend. A few fan service in there, but a well paced storyline, beautiful music and some breathtaking shots made me feel right at home, even against the sometimes rough animation.

Nosferatu clearly feels like a love letter to the original that doesn't quite stick the landing. Doesn't mean it's bad or even just good, but I wasn't as awed as after watching The Lighthouse.

Rough start to the year, but I think I'm in 2025 now. I also finished Mass Effect 1 a couple of days ago. Remembered very little from when I first played it. So now the question is: Play 3 (for the first time) or 2 with the same character?

So I finished Thief (2014) and after gathering some thoughts, I definitely understand many of the criticisms thrown its way. But I ended up liking it.

Yesterday I supported a conference day on decolonisation, today it's migrational studies seminar time. You might be thinking gaming has no place there, but it does! Both thematically and methodically. But it's also important to meet these topics on their own turf.

Steam's new temporary recording feature is great. Especially for someone like me who is notoriously bad with organising, which includes keeping an eye on file sizes.

Will I have to, at one point, reduce the number of accounts I follow? Maybe. But right now, if I feel overwhelmed, the OnlyPosts feed is a welcoming, calm but still place. Definitively recommend to add it and just go there from time to time.

It's Trans Day of Remembrance, which can rightly be a very sad day due to its nature, and, at the moment with things appearing as bleak as they are, it feels like this year's is greyer.
