In my book, "78 Acts of Liberation," I discuss the murder of forest defender Tortuguita in my chapter on The World #Tarot card which is associated with Saturn, the planet ruling today's New Moon in Capricorn. That chapter is about wholeness, and what that means for us in contrast to totalitarianism.

Three years ago today, Georgia state police murdered Tortuguita as part of their drive to destroy the Weelaunee Forest and build a deadly police militarization center.

Tort fought for a world without police and capitalism, and so should we. Viva, viva Tortuguita.

There's a chapter in my book on race traitors. I wasn't just being cute matching them to the Tarot archetype of Traitor. This is essential.

There's no denying whiteness when that power draws its borders around you, but you can still work against it.

"Treason to whiteness is loyalty to humanity."
Respectfully, I am going to whisper to some of our white comrades a truth that should be more widely known: You definitely have some ancestors to be proud of, ancestors who refused white supremacy, and poured out their lives in many of these struggles over time.

Time to claim your true history.

The Minneapolis AFL-CIO calling for a general strike is a big deal and we should treat it like a big deal.

Also it's a good idea. LFG

I'm loathe to post anything from the Washington Post, but I can't find anything about this anywhere else yet.

This man isn't the first immigrant they've murdered. And he won't be the last.

That's why it's imperative that everybody needs say that they should be abolished, period.

Noooooo! My barber just told me that he's leaving the shop. 😭 The person who has been most consistently involved in my gender-affirming care & for the longest. He's like a therapist to me. This is worse than a breakup. 💔💈

If you don't like the far left approach to making change, you should give us lots of money. It's for training. That's how you think it works, clearly. We'll train ourselves to 'do better.' 😇

Am I a bad queer for having a hard time deciding between Emo Night and a Headed Rivalry dance party on the same weekend? The thing is, if the Emo Night crowd isn't very queer I won't be surprised & I'll still have fun but if the queer dance party is taken over by straight women, I'll be furious.

Got a lil dopamine hit from clicking "actively don't want this" over and over again on every question.

I'm seeing breaking news on Instagram and when I search for anything at all here and click "latest" nothing more recent than four hours old shows up in the results, wtf is that?

ICE killed a Black man, Keith Porter, 7 days before Renee Good, and I hadn't heard about it until today. His vigils went unnoticed. His life came and gone and America forgot to blink.

Two Americas.

"Abolish the Police" has always been every bit as legitimate as "Abolish ICE" – it's just that most people in the U.S. didn't mind when this shit was primarily happening to Black folks.

We should be applauding people who break rules to stop what's happening. Failing to break rules is what's worthy of critique right now. That's the stuff people should have an explanation for — and I know, some do, and that's fine, but the absolute moral minimum is supporting those who resist.

As far as I can tell, that person died trying to comply with orders to get out of the way, but even beyond that, I am from Chicago, where people have tailed and blocked ICE vehicles and very intentionally gotten in the way, and you know what? They shouldn't be free to kill us for resisting fascism.

We're one of the most consistently well-attended groups meeting at Rhizome House, we offer spiritual care to our community by reading for folks at mutual aid events, and without @leftlanesmith.bsky.social's book, I wouldn't have considered starting it.

Tarot for the Revolution, a radical political Tarot group here in Cleveland, exists because of this book.
I don't have a NYT (🤮) book review for "78 Acts of Liberation: Tarot to Transform Our World" but I have something better, something that means more to me: people often tell me they started a group or project or took some action because of reading it.

(Testimonials always welcome!)

I knew my editor liked the essay I wrote for her upcoming Tarot anthology, but I've been a bit scared that someone higher up at the publisher might veto it. Talking about 9/11 & trans suicidality in the same essay isn't your usual Tarot book fare. But I just got a check, so it seems like it's on! ⚡

I think we need to be able to balance the reactions "this is another expression of 250 years of American imperialism" and "what do you MEAN we kidnapped the president of Venezuela and renditioned him to the US and are now claiming to run the country"

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed
