The main roadblock in my pursuing Irish citizenship is that I will need to get documentation about my Irish grandfather from my family. I think I am going to have to push through it. If I’m actively pursuing it then it will make the mental gymnastics of the midterms easier.

So I guess this will decide whether I actively pursue an Irish passport in 2026, given that the UK is going terf-ie and they are our fallback country.

Neuromancer by @greatdismal.bsky.social finally gets a TV series. Could be amazing, but expectations will be high from all of us who read these books when we were young.

Count Zero was a personal fave.

Me: Yeah, the flame is ancient but the relay itself was invented by Hitler to connect Ancient Greece to Germany for the Berlin Olympics

Everyone (esp media) pay attention. In 2021 almost every Republican attacked the Biden administration and State dept for being too slow in approving Afghanistan special visas as Afghanistan fell.

Now they are attacking Biden for doing what they asked him to do.

In Cinematography interview Tobias described Mensah as the emotional anchor for the show and I agree. I loved her so much, it was so good to see a mature aged woman take co-lead role in a scifi. Noma was amazing in every scene and especially with Murderbot. Again, please #murderbot @marthawells.com

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.
