I'm pro-union because I think workers should organize to balance the power that business owners have in various negotiations. It's true that unions have been weakened, but it's not because of multiculturalism. I would argue, it's because people seek to exploit divisions for their material interests.

Reading is more than pronouncing words. Writing is more than producing simulations for the purpose of a grade. These things have been OBVIOUS for well over a decade and yet the systems that want to rank, sort, and track, rather than engage and develop students ignore this reality.

I just... like... the world's governments are condoning the deliberate starvation and slaughter of actual people, who definitely can and do suffer, and we're wondering whether a very fancy autocomplete can feel anguish?

Excuse me @npr.org: “troops remain in place protecting federal buildings” (in LA) Protecting who? From what? Stop accepting / promoting ridiculous premises & framing - LA did not want or need troops, and ICE, 47, and Republicans caused the damage and violence.

So, maybe start by getting a sense of their knowledge gaps--what they don't feel they can confidently do well on their own. Then, help them fill those gaps while reassuring them that they don't have to be perfect, and that more practice is the best way to build confidence in what they can do.
