People often don’t believe me when I tell them that even the Sun & the Mail greeted an interview I conducted with Nigel Farage, at his request, by condemning the obvious racism he displayed. I remain amazed that other interviewers still struggle to expose him. I won’t get another chance.
This May 2014 editorial in The Sun about Nigel Farage said is not racist" to worry about the scale of immigration but it is "racist" to smear Romanians to say you wouldn't want to live next door to a Romanian & "you know the difference" [between a German and a Romanian neigbour]

PS - if you enjoy these kind of threads, give this one a repost. I honestly can’t tell if anyone ever reads them and I feel kinda silly writing them for no one.

The City is Ours is magnificent. Writing, acting, production fabulous. Binged the whole thing on the BBC iPlayer in two sittings. The final episode - no spoilers - is one of the most tense things I’ve seen in years.

Hacks, as good a comedy as there is at the moment. Great writing and two stellar performances.

That walk at the end. Alone. Floods. I said if he made the final he’d win. Magical show tonight, everyone was brilliant, Chris was remarkable.

Destructive jerks get space in our faces just because somebody thinks they have money. It's the ultimate punchline of the DFT years: They thought he had money.

Is anyone else a bit fed up with being asked ‘what’s the best song/singer/musical/car/actor/opening line of a novel/lyric/hat/film - ad infinitum - of all time… I think I’ve become an anti-absolutist.

My one constructive criticism on BlueSky, as a community: we need to “like” less and “retweet” more. In the absence of an algorithm, that’s the way we find each other and reward good content.
