HAVE A CLEAR AND STRONG OPENING PARAGRAPH. Give the listener (and yourself) immediate confidence that you know what you’re doing and where you’re heading. Think carefully about the structure and wording. Make sure you make an impact!
YOUR LAY CLIENT IS THE REASON FOR THE JOURNEY, NOT SOME HITCHHIKER THAT YOU HAVE DEIGNED TO GIVE A LIFT. Keep your client front and centre in all you do. Don’t just hear them, LISTEN. Talk TO them, not AT them. Give them time & courtesy. Be patient.
