The early-flowering spring iris is a February birth flower, named for Iris, the radiant Greek goddess of the rainbow and messenger between heaven and earth. Long linked with brighter days and good news, the iris symbolises courage, faith, wisdom and valour in folklore tradition.

Cyanicula sericea - the Silky Blue Orchid

One of the blue orchids endemic to Western Australia, the Silky Blue orchid is relatively common in areas of the State with good rainfall.

This one was seen in September in Julimar State Forest 💙

One of my favourite filler flowers in the garden is the annual Candytuft (Iberis umbellata). It comes in various shades from white to a deeper purple.
