Your yearly reminder to acknowledge the core facilities you use and their staff scientists in your papers. These scientists are a crucial part of the scientific ecosystem and to continue to exist they need tangible credit for their work. Plus their associated expertise adds credibility to your work.

I participated in a faculty panel a few weeks ago in which senior (ahem) faculty gave advice on careers in academia by pretending luck had very little to do with our success. One piece of advice riled me up, in which it was argued that a reason for their success was their ability to say no. 1/

Glyco-friends - we are at about 100 people in the starter pack I am looking after, and I think for a field as broad as ours it is fitting if we can get to 150 and start a volume 2. So spread the word!

This one is for the #glycotime community: has anyone tried to cleave Lewis X/CD15 from the surface a live mammalian cells using a recombinant fucosidase? I found single paper from 2007 but curious if anyone else has a recent protocol to share 😬

For those of you that prefer feeds over following, I've figured out how to convert starter packs into lists, so you can get your glyco fix as a feed. If you're on the starter pack, you're on the list, and anyone new on the starter pack will get added to the feed!
