Book 1 - I was saving this one to the start the new year! Loved returning to Area X. If you’ve read the Southern Reach trilogy, then I think you’ll like this new addition. (I 100% did.) 💙📚

Book 104 - I ❤️ Daisy Johnson’s writing & feel like she doesn’t get enough attention in the US. Think Catriona Ward and Shirley Jackson. It’s a connected collection of short stories about a very Hill House-like hotel. Short but unnerving in the best possible ways. 📚💙

Book 103 - Writing research! A non-fiction exploration of the treatment of women by society and how much of that treatment can be connected to the witch trials of previous centuries. Finished reading while out of town, so no dog(s) for this pic! 💙📚

This is terrifying. Loss is part of life and learning how to grieve and let go is necessary. Sure I would’ve loved more time with my grandparents that have passed, and my dad, but this is abhorrent.
Nightmarish idea for a startup tbh

Book 102 - I got this from a Penguin Books lucky dip from Second Shelf Books the other year. Look at it! From 1948! It cost “one shilling and sixpence!” It’s so cool to think about where this copy has been before it ended up in my hands. 💙📚

Last month I got into a car accident. Today I am hit with a big bill to pay for the damages that I simply do not have the money for. Please donate or share if you can so I can make it through this month. I'm hoping to raise $1500 but any amount helps!

Book 101 - Writing research! Possibly not for the reasons you’d think. Or maybe exactly the reasons you’d think, if you’ve been poking around my brain recently… 💙📚

Book 100 - Trying to read the remaining books that have been on my TBR pile since 2023. I loved Choo’s The Fox Wife, and I enjoyed this one! 💙📚

Finished the last book from my October stack yesterday, so here’s November’s! Some writing research, books that have been on the big pile since 2023, and I am finally starting on my goals for 2025 - re-reading The Passage trilogy! 💙📚

Shapiro: He rose to some prominence by writing a book about growing up in Appalachia, where there are a whole lot of people who get SNAP. He made millions of dollars off telling their stories, and then he turned his damn back on those very people he likes to write about and claim as his own.

Finally got around to updating the events page on my website (not that I’m procrastinating or anything…) Anyway, I’ll be in Doylestown, PA tomorrow! Details in the link.

Book 99 - A rare dive into classic fiction. Very tame by today’s standards but apparently this one was quite scandalous in its day for its violence and murder! 💙📚

Book 98 - Even hearing Nat Cassidy discuss this book at The Doylestown Bookshop earlier this year, I was not prepared for this book. It is absolutely insane in the best way possible. (This is Watson trying to do his best impression of the ferocious beast on the cover.) 💙📚

Book 97 - This is an unfortunate cover for what is an excellent book. A writer being driven insane (or is she?) by a supernatural (or is it?) oak tree at the house she’s renting after her girlfriend commits suicide. Pure literary Gothic folk horror. 💙📚

Went to Palmyra, PA to celebrate Book Bar’s first birthday! Such a great indie bookshop with an excellent selection of curated titles. I had to limit myself to just one and a bag of their own brand coffee (which is delicious).
