Book 106 - Got this one from Night Worms last year, and I have no idea why I let it sit on my shelf for so long. Really enjoyed it! Makes a great “double feature” with Rachel Harrison’s Play Nice. 💙📚

Book 105 - This one was fun! If you like meta-horror fiction (like My Heart is a Chainsaw) and found footage horror, I recommend it. 💙📚

I want to watch it but I can only watch it if I know the dog survives!

Book 104 - I ❤️ Daisy Johnson’s writing & feel like she doesn’t get enough attention in the US. Think Catriona Ward and Shirley Jackson. It’s a connected collection of short stories about a very Hill House-like hotel. Short but unnerving in the best possible ways. 📚💙

Book 103 - Writing research! A non-fiction exploration of the treatment of women by society and how much of that treatment can be connected to the witch trials of previous centuries. Finished reading while out of town, so no dog(s) for this pic! 💙📚

Black Mirror is not supposed to be an instruction manual.

Book 102 - I got this from a Penguin Books lucky dip from Second Shelf Books the other year. Look at it! From 1948! It cost “one shilling and sixpence!” It’s so cool to think about where this copy has been before it ended up in my hands. 💙📚

Book 101 - Writing research! Possibly not for the reasons you’d think. Or maybe exactly the reasons you’d think, if you’ve been poking around my brain recently… 💙📚

Book 100 - Trying to read the remaining books that have been on my TBR pile since 2023. I loved Choo’s The Fox Wife, and I enjoyed this one! 💙📚

😁 (But also if Target’s goal was to never get me to step foot in their stores again, they’ve succeeded.)

Had a great time at the Doylestown library today. Big thanks to them for having GEMMA and THEY DID BAD THINGS on their shelf! And I bought a copy of these sweet horror anthology from a local indie press.
