Another Marty Haugen, Michael Joncas, John Foley special at my FIL's small-town Catholic parish. This time with ---gasp--- a single cantor singing and playing guitar. And I'll tell you, it was earnest and beautiful and I could sing every song by heart. Trads in shambles.

If the survey is of congressional Republicans? All of it, clearly
Thought experiment, how much of the White House could the president tear down before anyone in power did anything meaningful to stop it? Like if he just kept going?

No no no, you're a Cafeteria Catholic if you use birth control and have gay friends. You're a *Traditional* Catholic if you ignore the poor, persecute immigrants, and support the death penalty. Am I understanding this right?

Christ’s resurrection teaches us that no story is ever so marked by disappointment or sin that it cannot be visited by hope. No fall is definitive, no night is eternal, no wound is destined to bleed forever. 1/

Okay, the jukebox in my head has moved on to "O Spirit All Embracing". Still don't know why, other than the assumption that I need to focus my energy on this part of the Trinity. Just Catholic things I guess.

Taxpayer-funded exclusion of students with disabilities. That's what charter schools are.

Super weird that the guy who was Practicing Politics The Right Way somehow magically seems to have a following so racist against Black people that him getting shot by a white person in the whitest state in USA results in 7 Black universities receiving terror threats.

She’s younger than 30 senators and our last two presidents—and only 7 years older than Barack Obama.

About this Florida vaccine story:

When they were little - 1 yr and 3 1/2 - my two older boys, who’d had all their shots, got whooping cough.

We asked their pediatrician what would’ve happened if they hadn’t been vaccinated.

“Oh, they’d have died.”

Factually institutions like CDC, DoD and FEMA form a wall of security around Americans and their children, lessening incredibly dangerous threats from deadly forces (climate, storms, disease, foreign enemies, etc). Many top nonpartisan experts now believe that wall is being torn down.
