I turned off all of the smart features and it's been an unsubscribe party all week. I also can keep the marketing emails I do actually open/ read, like waiting for @taskmaster.tv to tell me if they're coming to the US in 2026....
Gonna be honest, kinda like that gmail just dumps every email in one pile after turning the gemini shit off, makes ut much easier to delete the marketing stuff as it comes in

Seems like that Gmail thing isn't true but maybe there's a lesson here about what happens when you keep turning new features on by default and you make it difficult or impossible to turn them off, and also what happens when you lump useful machine learning in with forced slop under the "AI" label

If you have it please donate cash to the food banks. $10 in their hands will feed more people than the $10 worth of canned goods you can buy for retail prices. Also check on your elders. Many of them will not admit they rely on these programs so grocery gift cards or a surprise bag of staples
