Emerald Fennell stripped all the complexity out of WUTHERING HEIGHTS, threw in the usual racism, added some new racism, and tried to compensate by making every shot as gorgeous as possible.

My review is at @thewrap.com.
‘Wuthering Heights’ Review: Emerald Fennell Turns a Classic Tale Into a Mindlessly Horny Monster
Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi star in this absurdly sensual, annoyingly reductive adaptation of Emily Brontë's classic novel.

Emerald Fennell’s #WutheringHeights / #WutheringHeightsMovie is her best film to date - one that’s a decadent homage to the sweeping melodrama of golden era Hollywood. Margot Robbie & Jacob Elordi are undeniably terrific.

Emerald Fennell’s “Wuthering Heights” Is Extravagantly Superficial
A new adaptation of “Wuthering Heights,” starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, is certainly something to behold—but is it something to feel?

Wuthering Heights - The Film Verdict
Emerald Fennell’s take on Emily Brontë offers the sumptuous trash that has become the auteur’s trademark, but her departures from the original story fall flat.

The new film GOAT takes a dad joke premise - it's about a goat who wants to be the GOAT - and turns it into a strikingly animated story about why sports should be completely inclusive.

It's a charmer. My review is at @thewrap.com!
'Goat' Review: Animated Basketball Flick Is Surprisingly Nuanced, Gorgeously Crafted
Tyree Dillihay's family film about a goat who wants to be the GOAT in an all-inclusive sports league is a slam dunk.

His apocalyptic art film 'Sirāt' dances in the face of oblivion. Maybe that's why people love it
Quietly, Oliver Laxe's euphoric, shocking movie, set at the end of the world, is winning over critics and audiences alike, a hopeful sign for challenging cinema.

For LA Times I reviewed SCARLET, the new film by Japanese animation great Mamoru Hosoda. A movie that asks us to forgive our enemies, even when they show no remorse. That’s a big ask, but it gives the film major emotional stakes.

Corin Hardy's WHISTLE is to FINAL DESTINATION and IT FOLLOWS what URBAN LEGEND was to SCREAM.

It's not reinventing the formula, it's just an entertaining example of it.

THE STRANGERS - CHAPTER 3 has finally been unleashed, and I can finally say with confidence that all Renny Harlin's three-film reboot accomplished was making THE STRANGERS three times longer, and very bad.
