You loved our 101 best L.A. movies list — and hundreds of you had no problem telling us what we forgot to include. Here are your 14 top picks for the movies we left off. (Consider us repentant about "American Gigolo," but no quarter given on "Crash.") www.latimes.com/entertainmen...
The best L.A. movies that didn't make our 101 list, according to Angelenos
Movies about Los Angeles that Times readers love but didn't make our 101 best list include "American Gigolo," "Tequila Sunrise," "Get Shorty" and — yes — "Crash."

It's a good weekend for going to the movies. Here's a taste (🧵). First, @emilyzemler.bsky.social spoke with Alexander Skarsgård about his turn in PILLION, an achingly romantic love story that happens to be about a BDSM couple. www.latimes.com/entertainmen...
Alexander Skarsgård calls his latest a 'kinky gay biker rom-com.' It's also the love story of the season
Part of an on-screen dynasty that includes his father Stellan Skarsgård, the "True Blood" and "Big Little Lies" breakout is approaching recent choices with care.

I’m hesitant to call MELANIA propaganda because I can’t imagine anyone watching this movie and thinking that Melania Trump comes off well.

If it had subversive designs of being a satire about the first lady, there’s not much it would have changed.

Review: Made of car rides and cold silences, 'Melania' is so polished it slips out of the first lady's hands
Documentary director Brett Ratner chases the aloof first lady from SUVs to private planes in a profile loaded with B-roll but lacking an A-story.

Like Brat summer, the Park City winter era is ending. But before it does, it still want to scrap over the value of art with movies about Charli XCX, Wu-Tang Clan, killer unicorns, Gregg Araki sex comedies, and former Sundance-hater John Wilson.

Review: At Sundance's final blowout in Park City, killer unicorns and unraveling pop stars take the stage
Even as attendees feel the nostalgic pull of Park City, the fest's first weekend supplies confrontational fare such as Casper Kelly’s "Buddy" and Charli XCX in "The Moment."

Sundance's first major drama arrives early with the heartbreaking 'Josephine'
In The Times’ first daily newsletter from Sundance 2026, several movies lead the pack, including Charli XCX’s "The Moment" and "Buddy," starring a homicidal orange unicorn.

Unlike my other teenage favorites (John Hughes, James Cameron, Carpenter, etc.), I couldn't tell you what a "Rob Reiner film" was. That was the point. @theamynicholson.bsky.social gets at this idea beautifully. www.latimes.com/entertainmen...
