If you're here off an academic pack, I do share research stuff, but I'm an interdisciplinary magpie so it's all over the place. And you might just get food pictures, or in fact Doctor Who (or other geekiness).

Also, I curate my follows quite tightly so nothing personal if I don't follow back!
I believe I'm on a Doctor Who related starter pack, so if you're here for that be aware that while I did co-write two Black Archive books about the show (and an academic paper about livestreaming of classic episodes) it's not a topic I post about a lot. I won't be offended if you decide to unfollow!

We're surveying researchers about name changes in academic publishing.

If you've changed your name and dealt with updating publications, we want to hear your experience. Any reason counts: transition, marriage, cultural reasons, etc.

I couldn't make this event but it's great to see pictures of more sheep-making and my lovely colleagues talking to people about our Speculative Woolgathering project!
We enjoyed our time at the Festival of Social Science in Sheffield, where we asked questions about future technologies in industries like agriculture, and encouraged people to share positive messages from loved ones to explore the role that digital communication plays in our relationships.

I'm proud to announce my latest pin design!

These are for everyone with split pronouns who gets tired of people only referring to them one way. My lenticular pin shows different pronouns at different angles!

Please share with anyone who might like one 💖 canopyrobin.etsy.com/listing/4396... #SciArt

'Every essay will focus on a specific story (or series), asking how a fan author uses a fandom’s narratives and tropes to think beyond the themes or interests of the fannish source; or, to put it another way, to ask what is the fanfiction author using the fandom to think about?'

Oh yes, exactly

Hoping for some academic help...updating my readings in a Monsters class & would love a book that focuses on different monsters (zombie, vampire...) from histor/cult perspective. I've used (& enjoyed!) Asma's On Monsters and Poole's Monsters in America, but both are a bit dated by now. Thoughts?

I'm enjoying #FSNNA2025 so much, and it was very much worth staying up for the vid show just now, but having a full day of work including teaching running straight into a full conference programme until nearly midnight UK time is punishing.

It's #FSNNA2025 time! Always a fun conference. Later today I'll be presenting in an exciting panel: 'methods, pedagogy and disciplinary directions'. I'll be giving a preview of ideas behind the (edited collection) book I'm working on bringing Design Research and Fan Studies together, out next year!

I wish I could have gone to Brazil for #AoIR or even to Cork for #IDWCon. But it was a good decision not to, since the last fortnight here has been exhausting to the point that last night I came home at a reasonable time from the pub after a couple of drinks then accidently fell asleep on the sofa.
