Happy New Year 2026 - as 2025 comes to an end, let's look to this tiny tree for a lesson in persistence. The large stump washed ashore. Weathered by the years, sitting at the high tide line, someone decided to set fire to it. And yet - here is a tiny sapling that has taken root and flourished.

Rights - what's the sweet spot for you as a writer? Many magazines revert rights to the author upon publication, but others ask for 3 months, 6 months,a year before reverting. Some even ask not to share the full piece. Is there a deal-breaker for you? #WritingCommunity #PoetryCommunity #BskyPoets

My dad spent six years in Europe and North Africa fighting fascism so I could vote - unhindered. No armed militia, no one turning me away because of my sex, skin colour, religious affiliation, lack of "proper" papers. Simply a polite line that moved slowly to the Elections Canada official. #elxn45

Visiting the US is out. Visiting beautiful North Island-Powell River is in. As MP I will work hard to ensure federal funding for international & domestic tourism and conference promotion, and will continue to tell everyone I meet that this is the best place on Earth.
