A choice so good it didn't even cross my mind. One of the most strategic, efficient & kind operators I've met in #nzpol.

Greens are taking 2026 very seriously.
Kia ora e hoa mā. I'm pleased to announce that I'm coming out of retirement to take up the role of Chief of Staff role for the Green Party in Parliament (think Malcolm Tucker, Leo McGarry). I'm not moving away from Te Tai o Poutini, but just now going the process of setting up a 2nd home in Wgtn.

oh nz media is just doing first person missives without quote marks for the National Party now. Ludicrous?!

I guess they're taking the mouthpiece role VERY seriously

The top negotiator for one side claims he doesn't know the demands of the other side.

He is explicitly admitting he is unable to do his job. He needs to be replaced.

Roche is the living embodiment of that Upton Sinclair quote “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.”

(In this case the 600K part time salary pays for A LOT of not understanding.)
Does the highly paid Brian Roche not understand how inflation works?

Inflation rates are always historic - the prices have already gone up. Workers are already paying those prices.

When the rate drops - prices don’t go down, they just rise more slowly.

Oi, Labour people! You need to replace your leader.

If your Chippy tries to corral everyone to the "centre" we just get another Labour-led govt that is devoted to neolib continuity and alienates an increasingly hard-pressed electorate. Do you seriously want us to end up like the US?
Really?
Have we found out their party president is a sexual abuser and they've assisted him to cover it up, as per ACT?
Have we found out they have received illegal donations like NZ First?
Have we found out they've received payment for favourable policies, as per the entire Govt?
No.

This is why I say Trump's line on Korea 'after listening for 10 minutes, I realised it's not so easy' is the ur-text for his foreign policy. He is simultaneously aggressively incurious, happy to flipflop & easily influenced.

Palestine has been hit with more tons of bombs in 2 years than the total of London, Dresden, Hamburg, Hiroshima & Nagasaki in WW2.

Now the UK, Australia & Canada decide that while they continue to arm Israel, they will make recognition of Palestine conditional on the victim unilaterally disarming.

If you read headlines you could be forgiven for thinking Shane Jones/ New Zealand First want to renationalise the electricity market.
Jones wrote a letter about options for changing regulatory settings to produce more gas... & even that isn't NZF policy.
The headlines were just not accurate.

These Ministers can break basically any rules & never get fired. So media has largely retired using words like 'embattled' or 'disgraced', because they know they won't get resignations. The idea of media pressure forcing a Minister out was always made up.
