Relaunching Kyloson: Powering the Future of Work
This Labor Day, as we honor the workers who built our present, we’re relaunching Kyloson to power the future — AI, Linux, security, and the backbone of tomorrow’s enterprises.

1/Good morning BSky fam! One of my favorite authors in '25 has been Matt Stoller of the "Big" newsletter (@mattstoller.skystack.xyz) and "Organized Money" podcast. He's got a great piece that everyone should read - open.substack.com/pub/mattstol... - asking whether we overthrow the oligarchs in '26.
In 2026, Will Americans Finally Turn Against Oligarchs?
Americans are noticing private equity roll-ups in everything from youth sports to fire trucks to big tech. And they really don't like it. Is a genuine anti-monopoly revolt finally brewing in 2026?

1/Merry post-Christmas BSky fam! I meant to post something heartwarming yesterday but was too busy enjoying life, which I'm not sad about at all. Anyhow, @tedgioia.bsky.social has a great piece on Bing Crosby, one of the greatest entertainers who ever lived - open.substack.com/pub/tedgioia....
Four Perspectives on Bing Crosby
We hear him sing "White Christmas" every December, but the most inspiring stories about Bing are hidden from view

I'll be on that hill with everything I've got
I'll be there on time and I'll pay the cost
For wanting things that can only be found

What is wrong with these ppl?? There's part (a very, very small part) of me that feels sorry for people who live so deep inside a bubble, they've never met an immigrant family or anyone of another race, a family that's struggling, or a single Mom. How else could you be so heartless to others? Idk.
TPUSA recreated the booth where Charlie Kirk was shot and killed, and attendees lined up to take selfies in it. So weird.

Much like the DEA cracking down on pill mills a decade too late (and seriously harming chronic pain patients in the process), Trump is about 3 years too late on fentanyl. The streets have moved on and OD deaths dropped by more than half, thanks to drug economics more than anything.
Trump signed an Executive Order classifying Fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction.

Little to no fentanyl is produced in Venezuela for your awareness.

Even tho it makes me tear up, this is always and forever the best Christmas song of all time: Vince Guaraldi Trio's "Christmas Time is Here" from Charlie Brown Christmas - youtu.be/4PzetPqepXA. No other song captures the feeling of Christmas - too complicated for a post - better.

1/Good morning BSky fam! It's been too long. Christmas is a harried time in the STL. Finally able to read, still working my way through @thebanderson.bsky.social's "Loud and Clear: The Grateful Dead’s Wall of Sound and the Quest for Audio Perfection" (bookshop.org/p/books/loud...). Get this book! 💙📚

I used the wrong word in post #3. Obviously, Trump isn't using 9/11 aa "justification", but "authorization". Congress has allowed the Pres. to use the AUMF as he pleases, thru multiple admins. This is the loophole that's long overdue for closing.
1/Matt Taibbi (yes, THAT Matt Taibbi) has a piece (open.substack.com/pub/taibbi/p...) about the Nat. Guard murders, the White House's new "Media Offender of the Week" web page, and the declaration - by Trump - of war against Venezuela. I never turned on Taibbi for 1 reason: he's a journalist.
America's Lunatic Weekend
Lies, accusations and counter-accusations, and rising temperatures at home and abroad. When does the good part begin?

I held on the book until today, anticipating it like a Christmas present. When I start a book I know I'll love, there's a part of me that's sad for when it's done, as I devour good books. That said, to my fellow Heads: GET THIS FSCKING BOOK! Even Ch. 1 is exciting. Bravo @thebanderson.bsky.social!
Oh, @thebanderson.bsky.social, you naughty, naughty man! You were supposed to let me know when the book was out! After all, what's the best seller list compared to the opinion of some Internet rando? 😜 Seriously, fellow Heads: get this book NOW. And congrats Brian. Well done sir!
Pinching myself. LOUD AND CLEAR made the New York Times Best Seller List for Nonfiction. I’m grateful beyond words. If you purchased a copy, know it means the world.

1/The very same "socialism" panned by politicians today was also considered "evil" in the 1890s...by politicians. Ironically enough, the actual farmers had no such qualms, forming co-ops and irrigation districts for the good of their communities. These communities flourished while others died.
1/Good morning BSky fam! Needing something different in my reading diet, I took a chance on "Prairie Fires: The American Dreams of Laura Ingalls Wilder" by Caroline Fraser (bookshop.org/p/books/prai...). A tip for avid readers: a Pulitzer Prize-winning book on ANY topic is gonna be good. 💙📚

1/To @therealcavey.bsky.social - I think it's only fair to let you know I had to take a break from the book, not because it's incorrect about anything, but quite the opposite. Halfway through, I found myself really depressed about the state of the country, so I'm putting it aside briefly.
1/Good morning fam! Oooh, I'm on a spicy new book this morning: "No Democracy Lasts Forever: How the Constitution Threatens the United States" by Erwin Chemerinsky (bookshop.org/p/books/no-d...). Just starting it, but I want to say a little bit about why I'm reading it and why you should too. 💙📚

1/Happy Thanksgiving, fam! 2025 has been a turbulent year. I started my business frfr, lost my father-in-law (RIP Bill Loebig), and lived thru all the highs and lows that come with just BEING. Through all of it, I could count on folks like @therealcavey.bsky.social and many others for kind words.

Good morning BSky fam! I hate to start the holiday this way, but I figured it was worth pointing out. As our economy slips further into recession, of COURSE the government is bailing out the billionaires in the AI industry - open.substack.com/pub/garymarc.... Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃
Has the bailout of generative AI already begun?
Or is pouring a pile of government money in just a coincidence?

Sigh. "National Security Moms"? This is the Dems big strategy? "Spanberger posits that for voters sizing her up, her work at the CIA can serve as a shortcut to She’s tough. She’s hardworking. She’s thorough." I have quite a few descriptors for the CIA. None of those are on my list. Smh.

1/Here's another comparison that I know some will understand. Drug addicts have a secret they can only share with other addicts. Part of it is the thrill of doing something illegal. And that's a big part - at first. You feel like you're in a secret club - at first. You enjoy the high - at first.
1/Great piece from @jysexton.bsky.social on Epstein and the rot that continues to eat away at our society. To Jared's point, don't fall into the temptation to make this about Trump. It's not. Epstein stretches far beyond the White House and Trump, awful as he is, isn't the disease - he's a symptom.
The Epstein scandal is a symptom of a larger disease

The capture and corruption of American politics and institutions of power has created a criminal, abusive, and degenerate class of elites who believe they are untouchable and don’t care who they hurt
