Imo, to ignore what happened to The Acolyte during all this is to rewrite history and to be dishonest about what's actually going on with the fandom and with Disney. We have to address this head-on. And it's so obvious after what happened with The Acolyte.

I want both but I can't help saying that The Acolyte deserves it more because of what the creators and cast endured BEFORE it even aired simply because a queer woman was creating it and a black woman was starring in it.

Osha steps up to Qimir, feeling comfortable next to him and, if she has to admit it, a little cheeky. “Think you can hold me for that long?” she asks. His jaw clenches. “I think the issue will be letting you go.” Osha flushes. “And, go!” Qimir lifts Osha into the air and she hugs his body, her legs wrapping around his torso. His hands grip under her thighs and he lifts her up again, getting her in the right spot. “You comfortable, koala bear?” Their noses touch and Osha looks away, setting her chin on his shoulder so she doesn’t have to stare into his eyes when they’re so close together. “Yep, that seems about right. You rest while I do all the work.” Osha can’t help but laugh. He’s never complained until now, though she senses some sarcasm in his voice. “How am I supposed to help, exactly?” she asks, matching his tone. Qimir’s hands start to slip, probably because her thighs are covered in sweat and sunscreen. He lifts her again, grunting. “Oh, nothing. A little encouragement would be nice, though.”

For Osha Aniseya, nothing in the world compares to the sensation of stepping onto the stage. The sight of the packed stadium, each fan visible in the dark thanks to the LED bracelets they’re provided upon entering the venue. The sound of thousands of people screaming, for them, for her. The feeling of so many eyes on her, the anticipation a palpable weight on the air. The stage is her territory, her domain. Up there, she’s not a girl with a tragic past, and a horrible secret. She’s Osha, world famous pop star, beloved by millions. Up there, she’s in complete control. And so, as the music swells around her, the stage lights bathing her body in her strategically designed costume, her bandmates to either side, Osha opens her mouth and lets her voice soar.
