I'm staying up too late on a Friday night to submit a peer review recommendation because I can procrastinate on other people's papers too. It's due tomorrow, and I just hit send, so I'm way ahead of the game.

I'm also just getting Sheer Spite's US satellite store up and running, and Clipart Crypt is one of the first things I've made available there!

I am SO EXCITED for this zine (and for finding my clipart soulmate Lee through the magic of @qzap.bsky.social)!
Clipart Crypt is an extremely indulgent fanzine celebrating clipart, featuring interviews with clipart experts and aficionados (such as @kwooten.bsky.social on feminist clipart), and collages of the strangest and most beautiful vintage clipart I could find.

I just finished the audiobook of "Dead in Long Beach, California" by Venita Blackburn (beautifully narrated by Lynette Freeman). I checked it out from @queerliblib.bsky.social based on the blurbs from Kristen Arnett and Saeed Jones, and it did not disappoint!

"Thanks to the alchemy of preservation, in all its forms, there can be no doubt about whether Allan Troxler tried to understand his own heart or love others unselfishly. The archive tells the story." (The archive is held at my place of work!)
“He is part of the legacy of North Carolina, part of the queer legacy, part of the artistic legacy, and part of a spiritual determination not to be mowed down by the brutal forces that we grew up in and pushed back,” says Mab Segrest.
The Archive Tells the Story
On October 26, the Durham artist Allan Troxler died. A trailblazer in the fight for gay rights, he leaves an indelible legacy behind.
