Asylum seekers, housed in hotels in Manchester, are reaching out in their own words to address the concerns of the local community.

Please take a minute to read their letter, & share it with the people in your life who need to hear the truth about the people they are protesting.

Smart, sharp critique of @ilgaeurope.bsky.social’s Rainbow Map by @frammaturo.bsky.social and @kslootmaeckers.bsky.social.

What happens when advocacy tools shape reality more than reflect it? It builds hierarchies, fuels homonationalism, and reduces queer life to legal checkboxes.
Rainbow indexes are back in the news again 🏳️‍🌈🇪🇺

While the negative trend for the UK is indeed a troubling signal for British LGBTQ+ folks, they should also be interpreted with caution as @frammaturo.bsky.social & @kslootmaeckers.bsky.social explain here

The fact that the UK Supreme Court uncritically accepted “research” (from an anti-trans group) that trans inclusion in single-sex spaces threatens lesbians inverts reality. The biggest supporters of trans folk are cis lesbian and bi women. It’s also homophobic to erase trans lesbians and gay men.
The most offensive point of this judgement is that lesbians are historically the group who are most likely to support trans acceptance and inclusion and they turn out in great numbers to support us. To say to them they are wrong is deeply problematic and plain homophobic nonsense too.
