Maybe the Nobel committee should agree to give him the award if he can state, without paper or prompter, and correctly pronouncing, the names of the belligerents in all 8 wars.

When you’ve lost the po-lice…
Brooklyn Park police chief Mark Bruley: "We're hearing people being stopped with no cause & being demanded to show paperwork to determine if they're here legally. We started hearing from our police officers the same complaints. Every one of these individuals is a person of color... it has to stop"

“Coercing a loyal ally into giving up territory over its adamant objections would have been seen not long ago as preposterous, even mad.”

IT STILL IS SEEN THAT WAY
Since the days of World War I, America was the country that resisted conquest, standing up to Hitler’s Germany, Tojo’s Japan and Stalin’s Soviet Union when they seized foreign terrain. Now Trump aspires to put America into the category of conquerors. www.nytimes.com/2026/01/20/u...

“We don’t go in there trying to conquer anybody and trying to take over anybody’s country”
- Jeff Landry, Trump’s special envoy to Greenland

as it always is, part of the trump problem is that describing his behavior in plain language makes you sound like you should be on a 72 hour hold

If there's one empirical insight I'd want everyone to understand about American politics, it's this:

America's problems are solved problems. Just not here.

What would change if the US simply matched the average of 31 peer democracies? Not Denmark or Norway. Just the middle of the pack. 🧵

Confirms.
BREAM: Keith Ellison filed a lawsuit saying the federal government is trying to provoke civil unrest as a pretext to invoke the Insurrection Act. Your response?

BLANCHE: There may come a time when the president has to order that. We support him. The AG supports him.

How common is defense contracting fraud?

Fraud exists in every large government program. It should be rooted out to the extent possible.

But every article on fraud is about social programs. Without doubt, the largest fraud is with the largest department.

When will Trump explain why our base in Greenland, which he has overseen for five years, has failed to protect Greenland?
Timothy Snyder: Trump-wrong re nuclear defense against Russia & China in Greenland. We've had a base there doing exactly that since 1951 as part of NATO alliance. If we seize Greenland, we destroy alliances, friendships, neighborhoods-and we get absolutely nothing in return.

He said Greenland didn’t have enough security.

They took action to increase its security.

He went insane. How dare they!

“As well as others” is doing the heavy lifting to justify what’s happening in MPLS and elsewhere.

Being here illegally is a civil, not a criminal, offense. Undocumented people are not criminals unless they commit a crime.

@emilypeck.bsky.social $3 dinner + assume $2 lunch + $1 breakfast for family of 4 = $8,760/year. That’s a lot for many people.

You’re welcome.

Good thing the United States has a base there and Greenland is part of NATO.
Miller: Denmark is a tiny country with a tiny economy and a tiny military. They cannot defend Greenland… Under every understanding of law that has existed about territorial control for 500 years, to control a territory you have to be able to defend a territory…

@samsteindc.bsky.social if Walz went to the White House insisting on a one-to-one, could he cast the same spell over Trump that Mamdani did? Trump always sides with the last person he spoke to.
