Kelly Reichardt's The Mastermind is terrific, especially the way it uses the heist genre - fave of centrist dads everywhere - to skewer this one particular unaffiliated, uncaring, self-obsessed, self-aggrandising centrist dad, perfectly played by Josh O'Connor. The ending is just perfect.

Had a very successful Christmas, inasmuch as a I finally turned off Motion Smoothing on my parents’ tv so all television no longer looks like Neighbours in 1990.

I like it when the art and the artist are both awful, so you don't have to waste your energy trying to seperate them.

I'm sure of it.

He ██████ young girls on ████ Island, along with his mate ███████.

Then he spent ██ years lying to ████████ voters, as if it never happened.

I hope he snags his █████ on a rusty nail and it falls off, cos he's a ███████ cunt.

The goodwill and support for Robin Ince on this site has restored at least a fraction of my faith in humanity. Not a single negative comment here. A good man had done a great thing.

As a person repeatedly disappointed by Oxford, aside from its historic buildings, I’m determined not to make the same mistake with Cambridge. Going again this weekend. Please recommend things to do in Cambs- books/food/drink/arts you know the deal.
