Depending on what it was I could see it taking 30-45 mins, but they wouldn't get to "I'm dying" for a few hours π

Edibles have varying absorption levels in different people but if you have low tolerance yeah 300 mg will put you on your ass for a full day+
I'm fine with like 20 mg but I have a friend who takes 600 mg before flying just to relax.
