🗣️ women's sports do not need masc presenting dude fans to be valid!!! And centering those fans really takes the focus off of who the league is for and who puts in the overwhelming amount of the work to make it the fun, inclusive environment that it's striving to build.

Don't let a silly postseason loss cloud people's judgement about what's actually happening in KC that built the most dominant regular season run the league has ever seen.

I don’t care who you are, the one thing that links all of the -isms and bigotries together and sets them on fire is eugenics and ableism.

They’ve been playing you all the entire time. There is no progress in this country for ANYTHING without equity for disabled people.

sorry to keep going on about this but you don't need famous people or teal man or unwell fc to sell this league, these players and these games are enough. i promise.

@ the city of Kansas City: I saw how full the Chiefs game was during that below zero game a few years back so there's no excuse not to go to CPKC on Sunday. 33-40ish degrees will feel balmy compared to that one game

Very disappointing from KC, who are all too happy to post Temwa’s many accomplishments and accolades all over their socials. Guess what? Protecting her from racism, bigotry, and transphobic rhetoric is far more important than anything she has done for your organization on the field, KC.
In keeping with this theme, I reached out to KC Current to see if they would be commenting on the issues below. They will not be issuing a separate statement outside of the one already issued by the league earlier today.
I have reached out to the Washington Spirit comms for comment on the recent comments from Elizabeth Eddy and Jennifer Sey.

Don’t know that i will hear back today but will keep you all posted if and when i do get a comment from them.

Also, the players deserve to be protected whether they've been voted to the FIFOPRO World XI or not. Every player, from the best of the best to players who sign on as temporary injury replacement players deserve protection and support.

I understand that the NWSL is trying to defend their best player, but this framing creates and reveals the reality that Black women have to be literally the most ELITE OF THE ELITE to "earn" minimal protection, while mediocre/terrible white women enjoy the protection of systemic silence

Also, none of those statements names transphobia or racism, which is the specific type of harassment we're talking about. Neither did Angel City's. And no other group in power has named it. SGs have, which tracks for this league. I'm just frustrated. We had years to get ahead of this.

People always forget that disability is a huge umbrella term for many health conditions that make living day to day like an able person challenging.
Just like there are disabilities that don't change, there are those that can get better or worse at times and that doesn't make them any less valid.
There’s no such thing as the “genuinely disabled”

Disability is dynamic

Some disabilities are invisible. Some change day to day

You won’t always know a person is disabled unless they tell you

It’s a minority group you can join at any time, not a moral failing.

“Who’s going to pay for people to have food & healthcare? You?”

Yes. That’s the point. We all pay & everyone benefits.

I would gladly contribute my fair share to ensure no one is left behind.

I want my tax dollars to feed & house people. I want them to have medical care

This shouldn’t be radical

Our game doesn’t need gatekeepers. It needs champions and advocates and that means standing for every player who makes it what it is.
