My second @cannonballread.bsky.social review of the year - Twelve Months by Jim Butcher, the long awaited latest book in the Dresden Files. Actually the fastest I’ve read a book in a while, genuinely hard for me to put down and pretty therapeutic to read as it’s about healing.
Writing as therapy: the latest Dresden Files novel
The publication gap between Battle Ground and the new book Twelve Months has been over 5 years, the longest in this series. The back-to-back of Peace Talks and Battle Ground left Harry Dresden in a ba...

Transphobia is a cancer of the heart and mind.

It is a useless fear, based on ignorance and cruelty.

Trans people are not responsible for a single one of the problems we face.

Do the world a favor and grow the fuck up.

A less painful trip to the London office this week. A couple of workshops and a coffee meeting today. And then hopefully I can escape early enough to grab food

Defend from who? Defend it from who motherfucker?
Miller: Denmark is a tiny country with a tiny economy and a tiny military. They cannot defend Greenland… Under every understanding of law that has existed about territorial control for 500 years, to control a territory you have to be able to defend a territory…

How about we not get into a fight with Scandinavian soldiers in a frozen landscape. Foreign invaders trying that while going "we're bigger than you, back down" has a bad record.

New year and a new work bag - Roka’s Moorgate messenger and matching sling in candy pink. Reduced in the sale so together they cost about £40! Plenty of space for MacBook, headphones, a book, writing stuff, cables, door card, etc.

And it’s bright pink 😎

Normal weekend service is resumed for me - heading to Stratford upon Avon tomorrow for brunch and shopping, usual food shop on Sunday and first trip to a local antique centre for about 6 months afterwards. Time to browse for cool retro things!

I don’t write fanfiction but I read a LOT of it so donating to AO3 is one of my ways of supporting creatives (fanzines and artwork is another). I am loving this year’s supporter’s pin badge from AO3 (and also showing it in context on my fandom pin banner)

Replaying Gotham Knights as it’s nice and relaxing during the Christmas break. I know some people don’t like it but I do find it’s take on Gotham to be very pretty and there’s a good photo mode.
