Keir Starmer is simply wrong in law. A trans woman with a Gender Recognition Certificate is considered a woman for the vast majority of legal purposes, as required by the ECHR. One would expect a former human rights lawyer to have a better grasp of legal detail.

Keir Starmer is simply wrong in law. A trans woman with a Gender Recognition Certificate is considered a woman for the vast majority of legal purposes, as required by the ECHR. One would expect a former human rights lawyer to have a better grasp of legal detail.
This is barbaric. It’s not just dangerous it’s a direct threat to Trans men & women, & anyone who doesn’t conform to gender norms in their appearance. Cis people who present as androgynous or don’t ‘look’ traditionally masc or fem will also be in danger.
Bridget Phillipson here, confirming that the government’s position is that trans women must always use men’s bathrooms when out in public.
