Something that doesn't get acknowledged is a reason people's new year's resolutions are hard to keep is because January is a terrible month for New Year's. January is inherently a hibernation month, not a "be active and get your shit together" month. It's the coldest dead of winter, for fuck's sake.

It does break my heart a little bit in winter when people attribute the early sunsets to "the time change", because it means DST has overshadowed beautiful astronomical phenomena and rhythms of nature from being recognized
