Fun fact: I posted this after rewatching the Rob Reiner episode. Their counterpoint to his anti-smoking activism was, "Yeah, well you're fat."

I was going to watch Misery next month because I'm on a Lizzy Caplan kick and she played a younger version of Annie Wilkes in Castle Rock. But now I'm going to cut out the middle man and do it in memorandum to Rob Reiner.

There is something beautiful and symbolic about Taylor Momsen reprising this song as an adult, and doing a duet with her past self, since it's a song about how Christmas feels different as you grow older.

Red One wasn't all that fun of a movie, but I appreciate what they were aiming to do: Make an 'epic' Christmas action comedy. And in having Grýla the Icelandic ogre witch be the villain, they've given further mainstream American pop culture attention to European Yuletide monsters.
