I taught art and when students would say "I just can't draw" I'd ask how much time they spent practicing. They would stare back at me blankly.
Then I'd turn to the kids that COULD draw and ask them how much they practice and they were like "I draw all day every day"

The Flanderization of ghibli in the public mind is just so insane to me. Acting like it’s entirely wholesome and cutesy but is really overtly anti capitalist, depict the horrors of war and environmental decline, and have TONS of body horror and depictions of death and disease. it legit annoys me

There’s an error of thought I see a lot of people make under the current fascism whereby they read every development as preparing the road for some future oppression, so the dystopia is always deferred. No. These are not “long term plan” kinds of people. This is the dystopia, here and now.
