This is such a great contribution to the Special Committee, and in general a very needed addition to democratic processes.

There's lots of evidence of the power of mini-publics. You can see here for an example of their use in the health data space.

The end of public universities in Texas.
Texas legislators considering a bill that would put all public university course curricula and faculty hiring in the hands of ruling party political appointees and politicians, effectively ending academic freedom.
Texas bill would increase oversight of universities’ hiring, curriculum and compliance
Senate Bill 37 would create a state office to investigate complaints against universities and require governing boards to ensure courses don’t endorse certain ideologies.

This is a great read on how and why vaccine hesitancy can change. For example, research by @greyson.bsky.social shows "... non-judgmental support, opportunities to ask healthcare providers questions and the reassurance of seeing with their own eyes that vaccines didn’t harm their children" can help.
