I wish I had answers for you, but not supporting authors who are trapped on platforms like 'zon and substack and patreon and shopify and spotify is not the righteous act you think it is. Yelling at us to move to platforms with less visibility/no discoverability is not solving our problem: survival.

The Dread Pirate Comparisonitis (Ep. 46)
The Dread Pirate Comparisonitis (Ep. 46) | Around the Writer’s Table
As writers, your intrepid hosts here at Around the Writer's Table have all grappled with comparison itis throughout our creative journeys. It's a common issue that plagues many writers, stemming from imposter syndrome, perfectionism, and the fear of missing out on the success of others.Listen in as we discuss how we've learned to approach these feelings with mindfulness and actively countering them with self-trust. We also caution against seeking external validation  to make up for our own insecurities and doubts. Instead, we talk about how to celebrate your own writing accomplishments and lean on supportive friends and communities. Navigating comparison itis is an ongoing process, but one that has ultimately strengthened our craft and resilience as writers. Top 5 Takeaways:1. Comparisonitis is linked to imposter syndrome, perfectionism, and FOMO.2. Mindfulness and self-awareness are crucial for processing these emotions.3. Learn how to trust your own experiences, not external validation.4. Be cautious of reviews and critique groups as sources for writer improvement.5. Celebrate your own writing accomplishments and lean on supportive communities. ----------------Visit our website for resource links, downloadable worksheets, and a full transcript of this episode!https: // aroundthewriterstable. com/ep-46

We are a social species, and we have always prevailed through cooperation. Caring for our sick. Raising children we didn't sire or birth because they were part of our village or extended family. We are not breeders and predators, we are communicators and survivors. We evolved to UNITE.

Universal basic income is nothing less than a goddamn human right just as much as universal healthcare and education are. And I don't care if anyone works less because we should be working less. We should have shorter weeks instead of bullshit jobs. We have the productive capacity to meet ALL NEEDS.

Now Walgreens has stopped giving most workers paid vacation on Thanksgiving, Christmas and other major holidays.

Private equity takeovers are a disaster for workers, and customers.

Most woke opinion: since incorporated bodies are people & you’re eligible to run for president of the USA if you were born here OR if you were here when the constitution was ratified, Canada can & should run for president of the USA.

Native & First Nations tribal gov’ts can too, also Lake Michigan

I signed up for AVCX Crosswords a few weeks back, and it’s swiftly become a top favorite of mine. The puzzles are very fun, beautifully constructed and clever, and they’re doing great things. Supporting quality work, getting a quality product, good stuff all around.
So much to be proud of! And you can get all this for as little as $13/year, with our tiered pricing at avxwords.com. Try us out!!

If you need another reason to support us, our independence means we can be politically open. In today’s fascistic media landscape, we value this, and hope you do too.
