I know some people think we're living under actual fascism, but a fascist party doesn't usually lose votes like this one (or even HAVE such votes) and certainly not one that goes 427-1 against the Dear Leader's wishes.
Go ahead and yell at me more, but these are positive things.
The House has defeated a GOP plan to censure Del. Stacey Plaskett D-VI and kick her off the House Intelligence Committee. 6 Republicans refused to go along with the plan - and those were the key votes.

This is "heads I win, tails you lose." Trump lost control of his own party on this. That's a big, big deal. He said "sure, vote for it," because he knew he was losing.
The Senate did it by UC so there wouldn't have to be a roll call. That's telling as well.
Didn't Dear Leader tell them to go ahead and vote for it? Did you think they wouldn't vote for it then?

Again, I almost hope Trump tries this.
I'm waiting for Pam Bondi to state that there is an open investigation into Democrats possibly involved with Epstein. That might bring things to a screeching halt.

Which also says that GOPers are thinking about their *after Trump* careers
Does Trump really want the Epstein Files to become an even bigger deal? Is Trump underestimating how much Americans dislike wealthy pedophiles? Except for Higgins, not one Republican in Congress today wanted to have Epstein's name to be attached to their names and political careers.

Please stop thinking that Trump and his people are omnipotent and competent.
The clearest option is to destroy and alter evidence. Look at the lame photoshopping of a tattoo onto Kilmar Garcia.
There is no bottom for these people.

I could be wrong, but I'm laying down the bet here that Trump doesn't try this. It'll explode what's left of the MAGA caucus, who want this to be over with.

And has it occurred to anyone that GOP electeds hate Trump? That they're not unhappy about this?
He tells them to rewrite it with fixes. That 1) takes time 2) allows for necessary redactions, which also takes time and 3) gets his name or whoever he is helping/extorting name redacted. His name doesn't need complete redactions, just on whatever specific thing he is worried about.

The Liberal Metropolitan Elite abandoning the Labour party en-masse is completely vindicates the Blue Labour government’s Glasmanian strategy.

Having successfully signalled their contempt for these PMC faux-leftists, their true supporters among the ex-urban working class will return.
I've been out canvassing quite a lot in London lately. Labour's vote has absolutely evaporated.... it is quite extraordinary to go to places where Labour were on 50-60% of the vote at the last locals and find nobody, or virtually nobody, supporting them.

The phrase 'I voted Labour last time, but...

This from @stephenkb.bsky.social cuts to the heart of the matter. Does the government not understand how toxic this argument is? Do they think they can somehow weaponise it? The last governments at least had the merit not of making this kind of foul claim.

This thread collating the Sheffield Tribune’s brilliant investigation into the spivvy lawyer threatening Yorkshire leaseholders into handing over cash is worth reading before the story goes national.
Excellent and courageous investigative journalism.
The fact that it is (apparently) legal to do this to people is utterly disgusting.
“It broke my heart, that was my savings towards a new car,” one woman who paid Milne tens of thousands of pounds told us. “He has just wiped me out.”

Who is Andrew Milne - the solicitor sending "very aggressive" letters to Sheffield homeowners?

As usual one can count on Estonians to do the right thing. And call a spade a spade.
Estonia stands with Poland and Donald Tusk, strongly condemning the sabotage on the Warsaw–Lublin railway, vital for supporting Ukraine.

Those behind hostile acts against EU and NATO members must be exposed. Our response must be united.
