I made a synthy spaceship game in a week called WORL: chipswoon.itch.io/worl

This week's theme was MOVEMENT so I drew a lot of inspiration from classics like Skyroads and Star Fox, and rhythm games like Runner2.

Tech companies and policy-makers are currently rolling out online safety mechanisms for protecting children that directly conflict with all of the copious research and expert opinion on what they should be doing instead to prevent child harms. No one cares about the research.

I am closely monitoring a horrific situation in Sydney tonight, where police appear to use excessive and unprovoked force against Muslims peacefully praying. I understand that NSW Police issued a move-on order to people in the street. A separate group broke away from protestors to pray in Town Hall Square— not on a road or foot path, not abstracting access, and therefore not subject to a move-on order. This group were praying calmly and quietly. Despite this, multiple eyewitnesses I spoke to describe the use of unprovoked violence and aggression, including officers allegedly punching and grabbing people during prayer, throwing them onto the concrete, and using pepper spray. This behaviour was unprovoked and unacceptable. This has to be condemned unequivocally. There cannot be any justification for this demeaning, aggressive and humiliating behaviour. I will be calling the NSW Premier and Police Commissioner expecting nothing short of a public apology and clear accountability for what occurred. This indeed is a very dark night. Seonpotrdsm9g 5 4tf16gl m c5t15cch90t3ic9t97gmttlgc5tc1m8f 1 9a4m9 · We are sad to tell you that our beloved, brilliant Jon Kudelka died peacefully in South Hobart on Sunday afternoon, surrounded by his family and friends. He was 53. Jon was deeply loved and admired by many, including fellow Tasmanians, the legions of fans of his inimitable art, countless newspaper readers over 30 years, and even by the politicians he relentlessly skewered in his award-winning cartoons (many of whom have his work on their walls). He loved his family, friends, making art in many forms, and firmly calling out political and anti-science bullshit with his typically dry wit and compassion. Jon was diagnosed with glioblastoma in early 2024 and faced treatment for two years with positivity and hope, supported by his wife, Maggie, teenage children Kay and Oskar, sister Liesl, and his many friends. Jon believed in showing up fully for life and embracing humour even in the hardest of times. In the past two years, he was heard many times to say, ironically, “good times”. Jon’s presence remains in the love he gave and the lives he touched. He will always be with us. Funeral details to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Jon’s memory to The Bob Brown Foundation, Canteen Australia or The Menzies Institute for Medical Research.
