I’m Kamden. I’m a fisheries biologist in Minnesota. I primarily work in fisheries management, including stocking and population monitoring. I also conduct research on population dynamics and trophic ecology, or as I like to call it, #fishpuke!

Low-quality video of a shortnose gar in honor of high-quality #garweek. This fish was spotted in the Grand River (MI) during the @amfisheriessoc.bsky.social meeting in 2023, which also happened to be the same week I met @solomonrdavid.bsky.social for the first time! #52FishyFridays 🐟🐠

I didn't get to do #FishOfTheWeek last week because I was in Poland for field work, but it's gar week this week so of course I have to talk about one of my all-time favorite fishes. And there's a lot know, so get ready to learn something new

I had the incredible opportunity to stock some fish by plane this week! Shown here is ~80 pounds of small brook trout being dropped from the plane into a lake deep in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area for anglers to enjoy. #52FishyFridays 🐟🐠

It’s always amazing to me that so many endangered species have the word “common” in their name.

Really hammers home how quickly these conservation crises can arise. These animals were common as recently as when we were naming stuff!

Are there any cell/molec scientists I know out here who would be interested in being an external reviewer for a new degree program we're putting in for accreditation? Please DM me if you're interested. State requires reviewers to have a PhD.
