Hi! I hope you fine folks don't mind one more self-promotion post about the album I just finished, but I am on the cusp of being devoured by work deadlines again, so I wanted to make a thread about the art & typography of "Psychic Battle" before I get too busy. This was a big project for me!

The cover of my new album "Psychic Battle". I'm holding it (a CD, in its package) in front of a brown & white asanoha pattern curtain. The packaging features an illustration I made of a crystalline lady, made up of black hand-drawn polygons, staring with blank eyes, looking nervous. There is a geometric pattern behind her. She and the pattern are printed on shiny rainbow iridescent sticker paper, which is set down upon a bright yellow background. A pile of various printed things related to my album "Psychic Battle", and the yellow file folder I keep them in.

The lettering in the new Mushishi is so good that in places it's almost as if the sfx had been bilingual from the beginning. Spectacular work from @kernedout.bsky.social on a delightful translation by my colleague Andres Oliver in a package edited by @magpon.bsky.social. This belongs on your shelf.

There's a new English release of Mushishi, lettered by Phil Christie (@kernedout.bsky.social). I adore how Urushibara-sensei utilizes texture in her art, and how the sound effects inherit that texture. Phil does an amazing job replicating that with subtitled SFX. Notes in alt text!

My 1st full year of creative translation! It's hard to believe it's only been 1.5 years since I started freelancing full time. It honestly feels like a decade (lmao). I am so thankful to so many people for assigning me these beautiful projects, for believing in me, for giving me advice and feedback.

It's been a busy year (20,000+ pages)—not much sleep, but thanks to everyone I work with, the localisation community and all the readers!

Hi! Here's every manga I lettered in 2025. 40 volumes, maybe 43ish if you count omnibuses. This was a recovery year for me "technically" but I still ended up pretty overloaded. I have about the right workload, but time management is a tricky beast. Will try better next year!
