TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque:
"This is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it".

Crypto "currency" (not really currency, but actually a Ponzi scheme) also wastes huge amounts of electricity, contributing to global warming and transfers large amounts of resources to non-productive use.

Simple solution: BAN IT.
Smugglers, money launderers and sanctioned people once relied on diamonds, gold and artwork. Now, criminals have a far more practical alternative: stablecoins, a cryptocurrency tied to the U.S. dollar that exists largely beyond traditional financial oversight.

Trump's order to put his face on National Parks Pass is not just revolting, it also appears to be illegal. Add it to the list of laws the CWHO (Criminal White House Occupant) has broken. (Let's make #CHWO replace #POTUS to more accurately reflect the Trump Regime.)

The redesign is likely illegal based on the act that created the pass.

This is an important issue that in ordinary times would be front page news. These days with the Trump Scandal Machine running full blast, work by Congress to protect Americans from predatory scammers might not get covered at all in a lot of news outlets.
Spoke at the Global Anti-Scam Alliance conference with my Stop Scams Caucus co-chair Rep Shreve about our bipartisan work protecting consumers from fraud.

I shared the two new bills I introduced to improve federal government coordination with state & local partners to stop the scam scourge.

Hegseth must go. And I predict Trump will get rid of him soon -- not because it is the right thing to do, but because Trump is loyal to no one and will throw anyone under the bus at any time. Just ask Mike Pence. Trump is being damaged by Hegseth, so he will be gone.
