Interested in politics, football and reading books. Boring centrist (left) dad. Professionally work in skills in an industry nobody has heard of.

Interesting. I know very little about Welsh politics, but based on Scotland I'd beware the tale of two nationalisms analysis.
Who in my bloc can beat the threat on the other side?
Caerphilly election helps us understand bloc voting and viability.
Voters asking which party in their bloc is best placed to defeat a more disliked party. Viability absolutely critical, given polarisation and fragmentation.

A senior civil servant goes to the doctor.
"Doctor I'm depressed I work in the centre of the British Government and can't get anything done."
"Don't worry" the doctor says "The Great Baroness Casey is now running the civil service."
"But doctor, don't you see? I am the Great Baroness Casey."

A very British absurdity, that you can apparently release a press statement saying you are "no longer using your titles", and simultanously sign it "Prince Andrew." Mr Mountbatten-Windsor would surely do.

I'm not absolving Clarke of the evident set up issues, but there's something inexplicable about watching technically competent players unable to complete a basic 10 yard in step pass.

Enjoyed the new Slough House a lot. Felt the series had to get a bit less glib and do something with these characters. This one did.

This is a really good read. There's definitely interesting potential for this to be a universal platform for skills as well, as a place to verify skills, qualifications and occupational competence.

I'm no big city political strategist, but if I was faced with a fractious party before Labour Conference, I wouldn't write an article in The Telegraph arguing that problems with immigration are due to arguments on the left and not the actual Government at the time.

It should be obvious that a march whose organising principle is that the mere existence of Badenoch is a crisis and that Starmer needs to be overthrown can’t be beaten by either politician equivocating on whether they are wrong
