My MP's twitter posts average in the 100s of impressions. Instead of banning X, he would rather his posts reach 2% of his constituents even if it means the proliferation of sexual abuse of minors. Legitimately indefensible.
Political figures won't leave X because the conversation starts and ends with: "We have ### followers, sacrificing our audience is too risky"
These people are risk averse, they make decisions based on what feels least risky. They will only leave X when they start fearing blowback and PR headaches

What a beautiful but gut-wrenching sentiment. I'm not sure if it happened earlier, and it probably took too long, but the real heartache came for me after reading Tanya Talaga's "7 Fallen Feathers." That book shattered me.
Remembering today that having your heart broken is a necessary step on the path to becoming fully human. Whichever heartbreak is your first, it’s probably critical that a state break your heart so that you can develop a political imagination. If this is your first, I’m sorry and also welcome.

![You are no doubt aware by now that the artificial intelligence product "Grok", which is integrated with the social media site "X" is generating non-consensual intimate images and child sexual abuse material on demand for X users (Bloomberg reported on the story here: [cut for length]).
While I appreciate that legislation, regulation and criminal charges under existing legislation would take time to assemble and consider, I cannot help but note that both of you (and the Prime Minister) maintain profiles on this social media website. It does not take much time at all to delete a social media account or provide a public statement about why you are ceasing to use a website that is likely now the world's largest producer of child sexual abuse material.
So I guess my question is whether the public should take your silence and the maintenance of accounts and government communications on X as cowardice or active acceptance of this disgusting behaviour?
All my prior communications with politicians suggests that basic morality (like not associating with and giving free content to a child pornography and pedophile operation) is unlikely to affect behaviour, so please accept this cynical political rationale gratis:
While Mr. Musk is certainly powerful and intimidating, he doesn't make any Teslas in Canada and has said that "Canada is not a real country". He is already your enemy, there are limited to zero jobs at stake here, and you will not in 100 years find a better hill to fight him on. Stop ragging the puck and move past 'elbows up'. It's time to dump the bucket and drop the gloves. Pick the fight. You cannot govern forever from a defensive crouch.
I'm not a frequent Liberal voter, though I have voted for your party on occasion.
