Imagine a mayoral administration that did real community engagement instead of putting out push-polls designed to validate/rubberstamp/justify what they've already decided to do with communal spaces.

Grateful for the community orgs picking up Mayor Gentri-Frey's slack.

I don't like Karoline Leavitt either, but the criticism people have of her is often misogynistic & I want better.

When I hear her talk, I feel angry & disgusted and I long for honesty, integrity, humility, and compassion. She doesn't meet those needs & I resent her presence on the world stage.

Hey twin cities friends!

There’s a new website for the Mn Rapid Response network, now called Monarca.

It has the hotline to call if you see 🧊 activity as well as Know Your Rights information and lists upcoming community trainings.

A great resource. Please share widely!

Wow @startribune.com at least 3 people I talked to election week said they were ranking Frey ultimately because he was strong on creating affordable housing. I smelled bullshit at the time but didn't have receipts. Was this error bad factchecking or bad faith on your part?
the Strib (finally) published my correction of some funky Frey housing math that was featured in Deena’s profile of him pre-election. better late than never, i suppose

One of the most fascinating parts of the Trump presidency: two of the biggest bulwarks against Trump's descent on American cities are largely women willing to photograph and film ICE agents and Catholic priests and bishops willing to accompany migrants to court. You see both in Chicago.

Back on a news diet for my mental health, reading Heather Cox Richardson's "Letters From An American" and watching John Oliver & Jon Stewart. Using the energy and attention I'm saving from not spending more time and effort on the news than that on physical care and maintenance of my family/home.

this is something that individual members of Congress could do tomorrow. The government is shut down so they could use their district offices. I suggested in January that they turn those offices into full on community centers where people could find each other re: mutual aid etc...
If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.

Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net

Felt angry and disgusted when I got a fundraising plea from the @dfl.org. Sent the business reply postage paid envelope back with a note:

Please take me off all your contact lists. I want nothing to do with the MN DFL after you revoked the democratically reached endorsement for Omar Fateh.
