The amount of ice flowing from Thwaites Glacier in West Antarctica has doubled in the span of three decades. These satellite images from 2001 and 2019 show the fracture and retreat of the glacier ice tongue floating on the Amundsen Sea, as it's melted from below.

Danish Social democrats suffered a massive defeat in Copenhagen last night. They incurred similar defeats across the country and there will be a general election in the next year. In Copenhagen the far-left Enhedslisten (the unity list) won the most mandates followed by the socialist people's party.

The i Paper is reporting that once the changes are brought in, the 20 year route will be applied to refugees who are already here.

I can't over emphasise the level of terror this will cause to our refugee population, and the lack of detail and timescale will make it very difficult to calm nerves.

To put it into perspective, Priti Patel wanted her 10 year rules to only apply to new arrivals as she thought it was unfair on people already here. Labour are also going further by not exempting people who claim asylum while here on a visa.
