The Ankler | Prestige Junkie and Fighting in the War Room podcasts | I agree, it’s great to be fine
The Muppet Show happens in alternate universe where muppets and humans co-exist but Dianne Wiest and Whoopi Goldberg still have their Oscars and Maya Rudolph is still famous, what better utopia can you imagine
MY KIDS: so why are there muppets in the AUDIENCE

ME: THE CONCEIT!! IS THAT THEY'RE PUTTING ON A VARIETY SHOW!!! IN A WORLD WHERE MUPPET AND HUMAN COEXIST!!! YOU ARE WATCHING A DOCUMENTARY!! FILMED!! IN REAL TIME!!!

The only thing that has ever made me think I’d do well on The Traitors is watching Tara Lipiniski and Dorinda Medley stick around week after week, having no idea what’s going on but having a GREAT time

I learn so much from the Grammys and I’m trying to respect youth culture I swear, but are we really gonna have Benson Boone and ANOTHER floppy haired youth who wears sparkly jumpsuits, and just pretend we can tell them apart?

I don't think it's exaggerating to say that the stark contrast between Delia Deetz in "Beetlejuice" and Kevin's mom in "Home Alone" was the first time it really dawned on me what acting was.

Why would I ever watch any other reality TV show when The Traitors introduces me to everyone I’ll ever need to know

Dirty Dancing is really a bulletproof concept and there's no reason not to have one for every generation — and if you don't already know exactly who should be in the new version of the Swayze role you haven't been paying attention!
Kim Rosenstock did such gr8 work on DYING FOR SEX + GLOW I am...cautiously optimistic about what this could turn out to be? I also think there has to be some there there for Jennifer Grey to finally say yes to a sequel.

“In Minnesota, all of the ideological cornerstones of MAGA have been proved false at once. Minnesotans, not the armed thugs of ICE and the Border Patrol, are brave. Minnesotans have shown that their community is socially cohesive—because of its diversity and not in spite of it.”
Minnesota Proved MAGA Wrong. “Activists have made the decision to emphasize protection, aid, and observation. When matters escalate, it is usually the choice of the federal agents.” [theatlantic.com]

Look we’re not trying to minimize the crimes of real-life villains by comparing them to fictional characters but also… I cannot be the only one thinking of her right now

I once got to ask Wes Anderson if he loved hotels as much as it seems from The Royal Tenenbaums and Hotel Chevalier and The Grand Budapest Hotel. The answer: not really! You forget something in your room and have to trek all the way back from the lobby! Never ever could have guessed that response.
Being a journalist is sick: I just contacted a pre-eminent jaguar conservationist in Argentine with a question that has been weighing on me for ages and he wrote back right away with an informed answer.

For those of us who worry the Oscars no longer have the ability to draw in people who otherwise don’t pay much attention to movies: two texts from two completely unconnected friends, sent within an hour of each other tonight

I can't put into words the feeling of watching our government, a hive of evil antisocial filth, the absolute worst humanity has to offer, colliding with the best. Ordinary people trying to help each other, risking everything to stand up for what's plainly, unambiguously fair and right. It's unreal

I know it’s controversial but I will always side with “why should we change the idealistic symbols, they’re the ones who suck.”

Me and Chris reacting to the Delroy Lindo nomination, and very sincerely this sums up what I love so much about the Oscars. There's a pure joy in seeing a well-deserved surprise that is just really not matched by anything else!
This is so beautiful. Everyone watching made this face in that moment.
