After the referendum, the BBC chief Lord Hall ordered the BBC to treat Brexit as a done deal, a decision which all but wholly excluded Remainer opinion from the BBC for around 2 years, thus grossly biasing the Brexit debate. It was a grotesque abuse of democracy.

Europe doesn’t need an apocalypse to lose to Russia. All it takes is a”bad peace"in Ukraine&a few well-timed crises in Europe itself. The essence of the scenario isn’t that Russia will”defeat NATO"in a major war.The essence is that the Kremlin can win without a major war

Here’s another idea - every adult is given training in how to reduce their carbon footprint and encourage nature. Just a thought, as we are now in a death spiral of ecosystem collapse and environmental catastrophe according to their own report. 🙄 @ukparliament.parliament.uk #UKGovernment
BREAKING: Free AI training will be offered to every adult in the UK, with short courses to teach people how to use simple AI tools effectively in the workplace.

Technology Secretary Liz Kendall tells #BBCBreakfast about the scheme

A useful 'roll out’ instead would be training to spot AI produced content and scams - and while they’re at it - training on online manipulation and lies 🙄
Just listened to Radio 3 news. GenAI training to be rolled out to every adult in the UK. Do to what? Make 'content' apparently. I'm not sure we need more 'content', let alone a tidal wave of AI slop.

WORD FACT

The Latin word rivus, meaning stream, gives us both “derive” and “rival”:

“Derive” literally means “to draw (water) from a stream”.

“Rival” literally means “one who shares the same stream”.

Yet more evidence that the crucial Atlantic overturning circulation #AMOC is weakening.
Bad news for our climate future.
More reason to finally get serious about ending fossil fuel use.
As fast as we can.
"The results also indicate that current #climate models underestimate the magnitude of the observed changes. This is caused most likely by a too simplistic representation of deep mixing processes in the ocean in numerical models"

Hank, I respect your question, but it has a fundamental flaw. We cannot break right-wing echo chambers. We could flood every Discord, every group chat, every social platform, and nothing fundamental would change.
