Tonight I am learning about Elizabeth Tashjian, artist and founder of the Nut Museum in Connecticut. She was a Christian Scientist who did the talk show circuit in the 80s and entertained audiences with the obvious double entendres and the suggestion that humans may have descended from nuts. 1/

Though I feel they’re somehow thematically linked…
Final shot of THE DEVILS (1971). A figure walking off into the distance down a path lined with dozens of Catherine wheels with people strapped to the top. Pretty sure they’re all dead. Final shot of TITANE (2021) a man lies on his bed, cradling a newborn baby against his chest and crying happy tears. The baby has a metal spine! Final shot of FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN (1973). A wide shot of a basement laboratory. Four corpses, two women and two men, lie on the floor. Next to them is a man on his knees with a huge stick rammed all the way through his stomach. Above them, a man is tied at the wrists and dangling from the ceiling and two children, a boy and a girl, are standing on either side of the room observing the scene. ‘END’ is written on the screen in red. Better than any Renaissance tableau. Final shot of THE MUPPET MOVIE (1979) hundreds of muppets in a theatre singing as the light of a rainbow shines down on them.
