I remember learning about oligarchies in social studies as a kid and wondering how the governed tolerated it.

Didn’t really want to learn first-hand.
One of the things that kills me about all this is that it’s just, like, maybe ten guys.

Just saw a claim from Fox News that No Kings protestors got $500 each. Times 7 million protestors (on the low end) that’s 3.5 billion dollars. These people expect us to believe someone is spending that to get the US government to…tax billionaires fairly? 🤣🤣🤣

Also, where’s my check?

So the vice president decided that it’s better for the administration to claim that a comment made by the president is better played off as a joke he made AT A MEMORIAL SERVICE than taken at face value.

Incredible that this administration not only manages to blame women for autism rates because we take Tylenol while pregnant (as doctors have recommended for decades), BUT, they also expect pregnant women to simply deal with pain during pregnancy and seek no relief.

After years of bipartisan warnings about TikTok’s potential national security risks, users may soon confront a different kind of threat, perhaps even worse: an algorithm “controlled by America.”

In another Ohio county, Dems were selling buttons at the fair that read “86-47” and “is he dead yet.” The sheriff there is considering charges because those phrases constitutes a “threat” to the president and therefore are not protected speech.

BUT…
Ashland County sheriff considering criminal charges over Democrats' Trump buttons at fair
A sheriff is looking into criminal charges against his local Democratic Party for selling buttons that he and some Ashland County fairgoers say can be seen as threatening to President Donald Trump.

The FCC has been weaponized against American late-night hosts, despite claims otherwise. Something about the Colbert and Kimmel situations has been tickling my brain, and this morning I realized what. There are so many parallels to

Daughter asked how vaccines work (got her flu shot yesterday). I tried to do a metaphor.
“Have you ever seen a buffalo in person?”
“No.”
“Have you ever seen a picture of a buffalo?”
“I have on a bottle of sauce.”
“Would you know one if you saw it?”
“I don’t know.”

Elephants are a better metaphor.

Look at this graph.

The share of national income going to the richest 10 percent was lowest (and share to lower 90 percent highest) when union membership was at its highest. As unions have weakened, inequality has widened.

This is why we must build back union power.
