I make things that pretend they're other things and spend way too much time thinking about comic books.
You've heard of the Engineering Triangle where there's quality, time, and cost and you get to pick two.

I've found that my brain has a similar thing with the members of the band The Police. It can retain two of their names at any given time, but not all three.

Sometimes, I'm not sure if the football players are celebrating a good play or wanting me to steal second.

I wish there was a button for "Interested but not for the reasons you think I'd be interested."
You sure about this, Google?

Dear Amazon,

If you're going to put out a commercial claiming to celebrate a small business based in Grand Forks, ND, maybe in the background of the outdoor shot you shouldn't have *MOUNTAINS*.

This is a good story to remember Peter David by.
We had a regular at the shop, a differently-abled young man who absolutely loved the Incredible Hulk. He was, of course, nicknamed Hulk Kid. One Sunday, he was rummaging through the back issue bins when a familiar-looking face from the Comic Buyers' Guide walked through the door.

We just got a letter from our healthcare company denying coverage for my wife's recent 48 hours in the hospital because they have decided that it was "not medically necessary."

She was in the hospital giving birth.

"So good to see everyone here at church on a beautiful Sunday morning. Special welcome to all of the moms on this Mother's Day. To start our time of worship this morning, we're going to kick it off by singing 'Mother' by Danzig. Two, three, four!"

A hill I’ll keep dying on: Whatever your politics, the fact that so many U.S. leaders do not understand basic constitutional law—or willfully distort it—reflects extremely poorly on our country.

I used to work for Wells Fargo. Yes it sucked. But one take away I tell everyone is to thank the caller, hang up, and immediately call your bank. If anyone calls from a bank do this. It is the only way to be sure. And don't call the number that called you. Call your official bank customer service.

The people behind Blue Prince have created the worst great game ever. It's a game you can't tell people about beyond a really basic thumbnail for fear of spoiling some of the mystery. This really hurts the word of mouth recommendations.

While running errands with my wife and listening to "Baby Got Back," as you do, I had the realization that since Mix has a 900 telephone number, people have to pay to call him. That's an absolutely genius move. Well done, Sir Mix-a-Lot. Well done.

I think more people, especially in or near my demographic, need to become much more comfortable with being able to observe a thing (movie/music/art/television) and quietly acknowledge "well, that's not for me" and then move on with life.

It's so strange to get a public notification from my kids' school about registering for classes next year and not have to remind any children about getting their classes for next year figured out.

JUST IN: Jimmy Butler has been suspended seven games for conduct detrimental to the team "over the course of the season and particularly the last several weeks," the Heat announced.

Miami added that they will listen to trade offers for Butler.

Anyway, welcome aboard people who definitely aren't bots!

"Look, if they NEED a science fiction writer at the hospital, then shit has gotten REALLY weird, I must depart"

(leaves Thanksgiving in a hurry)
For $20 today only I will call you in a panic during your family dinner and tell you there is an emergency at the hospital and your assistance is required
