you can pick-up a copy through our Bandcamp. Highly recommend grabbing a vinyl copy of that is your thing. We’re down to the last 60 out of 200 copies we have available for direct sales online or at shows. After that you’ll have to find one of the handful left through retail or Little Cloud Records.
I didn’t take screenshots this morning, but closed out S2 while exercising before work today. All-in-all solid & a good sign for S3. That said, still wild that a continuity-heavy show like this kills off a character’s girlfriend and said character is just completely unaffected by it afterwards?
Up to “Divided Loyalties” and I have to say Ivanova and Talia have so much more chemistry than either of them did with the various guys either were paired with across the series. It’s just a shame that the 90s were what they were because they’re easily a believable couple.
Back to the B5 rewatch. This just in: humans hate trans girls as much as the minbari.

Every uni that dismantled depts and offices did so because they wanted to. DEI was always window dressing for admin and faculty who did the work were labeled problems.

At best, unis believed complying in advance would save them from the fire directed at Columbia and Harvard. Cowards.
BREAKING: The Department of Education has ended its directive that attempted to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in schools nationwide.

This is a victory for academic freedom and education equity.

I’m really amused that someone got very offended at how I was wrong for saying transvestite and travesty are related.

But, like… they are. Both are just a combination of the roots trans (across) and vestire (clothes), but “travesty” lost its “s” and “r” when it passed through French.
I find it interesting when English borrows the same word twice but through different intermediary languages so it ends up with different spellings.

Pawn, peon

Transvestite, travesty

Etc.

TRUE facts!
Finally opened up the package with my copy of 'Begin Transmission: The trans allegories of The Matrix' by @tillybridges.bsky.social and I'm really looking forward to reading it!

Google just added Lyria, an AI music tool, to Gemini. There is no information on whether Lyria was trained on copyrighted music without a license. When asked, a Google rep evaded the question.

If you don’t read old stuff you’ll never discover that people in the olden days had the same thoughts and feelings and dreams and anxieties you do, sometimes articulated differently, sometimes exactly the same way. You are never truly alone in anything and old writings are a neon sign telling you so

Hope @mayor.nyc.gov pushes back on this
in NYC?

when hospitals end trans youth care programs, it’s time to ask mamdani about his platform:

“…hold private hospital systems denying GAC accountable—hospitals that continue to deny trans youth access to gender affirming care are in violation of NYS Constitution.”

I am incredibly blessed that I have a fantastic day job, but I dream of a world where I could actually make art full-time. As is, I have to fit it around my work schedule and be my own marketing person, PR person, and booking agent. I have barely any time left over for the actual art bit.
if you’re not a creative i think you likely don’t know how much almost all of us in the US are constantly struggling

or how much MORE GREAT ART you would get if most of us weren’t constantly worried about not being able to eat or pay the bills

imagine valuing art and artists!

IMAGINE
I regularly see people wondering how it's possible that there are so many musicians and writers and film makers and artists from a tiny nation like Iceland.

And the answer is really simple: State funding for art education and artists. I literally get a salary from the government to write books.

I’m constantly astounded at the sheer level of artistic production coming out of Iceland. Novels, movies, music. Amazing.

Shame on NYU Langone for ending gender-affirming care & kicking trans New Yorkers to the curb. It's a violation of their promise to treat all people equally, kindly, and respectfully — and a violation of NYC's human rights law as well. Bending the knee is bad; denying people care is even worse.

Also let’s be clear: cis people aren’t enforcing state-level trans non-discrimination laws now. That goes for Attorneys General and Judges who openly acknowledge the laws are being violated but have (in 1 case at least) openly said the cost of defending us is too high. We can’t trust your promises!
Love the centrist argument that we should only defend non-discrimination laws for trans people in employment and housing… as though it is possible to work when using the bathroom is illegal and your bones are disintegrating because your healthcare is banned.

NY enshrined protections for trans people into its constitution via the ballot in 2024. This is why the Skrmetti decision was gaslighting bullshit because they were never going to let trans youth access healthcare even when their "democratic process" explicitly chose to protect access.

Like it’s not fun when you have the random thought of ‘a doomgaze cover of this Tegan and Sara song would be cool’ and you end up shooting it down yourself because you know exactly how it will go over when you bring it up.
Yeah. There’s some of that. But also just feeling really tired of having to negotiate everything with three other people and managing their feelings when I do like 90-95% of everything from writing to promo to booking. And, well, paying for everything too.

The Lucid Express kids are great.

Awesome awesome awesome live band.

They were so incredibly friendly and supportive when we played with them last year.

Check out their record(s) and you should absolutely catch them on their latest US tour if you can.
Lucid Express' latest is a luminous document of their swirling sound, their immersive energy sustained through detail and warmth. It's our Album of the Day.
