많은 사람들이 콜드 월릿을 일종의 '코인 보관소'라고 생각하지만 놀랍게도, "콜드 월릿"에는 (비트)코인이 저장되지 않습니다. 저게 그냥 금괴가 들어간 금고같은 이미지만 줄 뿐이지, 그런게 아닌거죠. 어차피 모든 블록체인(과 코인)은 인터넷에 연결된, 온-체인 상태가 아니면 의미가 없어요.

그러면 뭐가 들어있냐, 코인 지갑 주소와 그 지갑에 접근하기 위한 '프라이빗 키'가 암호화되어 저장되어 있습니다. 심지어 그 키 쌍(Key Pair)를 복구하는건요. 콜드 월릿 없이 니모닉이라 불리는 18~24개의 단어만 있어도 됩니다!
